The distinctive red coloration of scarlet proto avians makes it difficult for them to hide from predators, which ironically means they're very hard to find.
Had to edit Misskatt's original macro as it was providing false positives sounds on Proto Avians and I spent ages looking around for the raid target marker. This is in Dragonflight 10.1.7

I finally got one at 32.4 55.2 ater about one and a half hours of killing proto avian critters and doing proto fledgling pet battles in this small area'

Spend 90 minutes near Path of Inception killing all of the Proto Avian and the battle pets there.
I just caught mine at 63.83, 49.52 at the cliff by Pilgrim's Grace, it was a green S/S one, front line pet, and with a blue Battle-Stone it is now blue.
Got mine at 32, 55. I think it can be anywhere a Proto Avian Fledgling can spawn.
Found one as a primary @ 65.06, 46.03 sitting on top of a square rock. I guess I got lucky on this one.
Found some birds at 62.50, 47.29 that spawned one.
This is a -very rare- spawn in place of the other Avian Critters in Zereth Mortis. (As referenced by its description) I killed every Avian critter I could for hours and didn't get one to spawn, my friend got one after 10 minutes of killing. -.-;
