I caught both the Green and the Red Boulderfang around 47.89, 54.99. I had caught the green and I wanted to see I could spawn the red version as a bettlepet. I was looking for the boulderfang critters to clear for possible pet spawns when I watched a green boulderfang critter vanish and a red boulderfang battle pet appeared. Lucked out the pet was a rare.

Took a ton of rotating around killing critters and pets alike (like 3 hours or something), but I can happily confirm that the red variant exists!
