Chillbot 9000 and Thrillbot 9000 cost 400 points each. A US residential address is required to add points and use those points to "buy" digital items, however any player can use the item code in the Bnet launcher to add the item to their in-game collection.
In honor of Mats “Ibelin” Steen, a Norwegian World of Warcraft player who suffered from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Blizzard has released The Reven Pack. It includes a detective-themed fox pet, Reven, and cosmetic backpack (pet available in both Retail and Classic, however the backpack is only available in Retail).
This special bundle is available now through January 7, 2025, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to CureDuchenne.
CureDuchenne is a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve and extend the lives of those living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, through research toward a cure and education and outreach.
You can learn more about Mats “Ibelin” Steen's story from the Reven Pack Trailer on Youtube, or the documentary, The Remarkable Life of Ibelin, available on Netflix.
Players that continue to keep Mats in their hearts can now escort the memory of him through more adventures in Azeroth via an inquisitive little fox. Adopt Reven before January 7 to support CureDuchenne, and help those living with muscular dystrophy.
A Cool New Friend
A new baby murloc pet is available with figurine purchase from the Blizzard Gear Store. [source]
Players can adopt Brrrgl (pictured right) by purchasing the World of Warcraft Ice Murloc Funko Pop! Figure. It costs $18 USD (not including tax and shipping). This is a limited time offer, with limited supply.
Upon purchasing the toy, a separate email will be sent that includes a code for this murloc pet. Note that this email may not arrive immediately. Be sure to check your Spam/Promotions folder.
Although the pet-offer seems to only apply to US-residents, it's possible for players in other countries to claim an unused code.
Upcoming Promotion
Starting November 4, 2024 through January 31, 2025, collectors can purchase specially marked Mountain Dew, Rockstar Energy Drink, and Doritos products to acquire codes. After creating an account on DoritosDewRockstar.com, these codes can be submitted to earn points, which can then be used to redeem digital items.
WoW players can choose from the following list of items:
- Thrillbot 9000
- Chillbot 9000
- Bot Wrangler’s Violet Apron (Tabard)
- Bot Wrangler’s Crimson Apron (Tabard)
- Hateforged Blazecycle (mount)
- Lil’ Ragnaros
Lil' Ragnaros is currently sold in the Blizzard Store, so it's interesting that it will also be available as a redeemable reward.
It's unclear if Thrillbot 9000 and Chillbot 9000 will be battle pets, but considering the previous Mountain Dew Game Fuel promotion in 2009 that rewarded the Warbot pet, there's a high likelihood these two new bots will also be pets.
Similar to the Gummi promotion, this campaign is only open to US residents. Signing up requires first and last name, a valid residential address, email, date of birth, and phone number.
Additional details and restrictions: One account per person/email address, and limit three accounts per registered mailing address. Participants can only submit 15 codes per day, and there are limits on how many digital items can be redeemed per account. For additional details, see the Mountain Dew Gaming Program Terms.
We'll have to wait see whether the two bots are indeed pets, and how many points they'll require.
EU player. I'm in New York for the week and managed to find the promo bottles only today (leaving Monday). Because of the daily limit, my partner and I might not get everything on time. Does anyone know if a VPN works?
If anyone's willing to part with a Thrillbot 9000 or Chillbot 9000 code, I'll return the favor for any EU only pets in the future!
You can have only one Lil Rag. If you already have this, it wil ask you to put in on another realm. I selected EU and it worked.
If anyone got a spare Thrillbot 9000 or Chillbot 9000 code, I'd really appreciate it. :)
(EU player here.)
Edit: Already bought them.
can you have more than one Lil Rag?
@Escalus people have been selling loot cards that give in-game items (pets, mounts, toys etc) on eBay forever. I think if Blizzard really had an issue with it we'd know about it by now. Blizzard can't prove that you "bought" it from a 3rd party. I might have been gifted it from someone who got it legitimately, I might have had it lying around from old loot card packs, I might have been given the code by family in the US, who bought the promo item. Do you see how much a grey area it is?
@Mehetabel buying Mini Tyrael According to Blizzard's End User License Agreement, players are not allowed to buy or sell World of Warcraft (WoW) items, products, or services for real money. Accounts involved in real money transactions may be penalized.
@Escalus Mini Tyrael can still be bought on eBay and can be redeemed in the US. If you look at all the top collectors in the US, they all have that pet. I'm in the EU but I still had to buy it on eBay, as I imagine many players have had to do. So I wasn't counting him at all. Lurky, on the other hand, wasn't a promotional pet as such. He was given to people who bought the TBC collectors edition as an apology for various issues.
I was really hoping that Lil' Ragnaros was a typo, and they were actually going to re-release Warbot from that old promotion. Would've fit the last couple of events where old items have been made available again, like Plunderstorm and the Anniversary. But then again, they did skip Lil' Frostwing...
@Reedwand you literally missed the point I made to Mehetabel. They like you are acting like EU has never had but 1 that was "exclusive". I proved quite otherwise.
And while Trolli's candies/or Brrrgl aren't "arm or leg" expensive it goes against the TOS for all US players to do anything involving RL cash transactions with other players. Hence Quintessences remarks in each post.
Something else the new ice murloc had limited stock in the EU. It sold out within a day. I guarantee that whilst it said one per order I know for a fact blizz didn't check. I bought mine from US and I can't even get the code because I didn't ship it to a US address And the EU is not getting any more stock so meh being in the wrong country yet again.
Lurky wasn't linked with gummies, but CE. Interestingly this shares itself with Murky, original murloc at Blizzcon
Gurky, back then there was no Warcraftpets like this great site, 0.0% of the community own this, most EU players didn't spot it.
I know China has had nice bits but I wouldn't want their situation what with plug pulling!
My point though is that were all here with a common love for warcraft pets, and if I could go out and buy a box of these codes to share EU pets. I would in a heartbeat.
As a Mini Tyrael owner (because I went to the WWI in Paris; i really miss those days and it sucks they've not done a new con here since then, and it was 2008..!!) I would LOVE for him to be available to everyone.
@Mehetabel there have been 3 availble to EU servers specifically: Mini Tyrael (Paris), Lurky (BC CE, EU Only), Gurky (EU fansites Only)
As of now there has only been 2 pets only availble to the US: Murky, and Gummi (yet US collectors are helping others get their hands on it)
US & UK: Brrrgl ('24)
Chinese had 4: Essence of Comp, (both) Tiny Red & Green Dragon, Cub
Korean had 2: Onyx Panther, & Murki
Trading Post: according to blizz players will "eventually" get the R-A-F/Trading Card
@Escalus most of the people complaining about these pets never had access to those other promotional pets either. The vast majority of promotional pets have been on servers in China. I think there has only ever been ONE promotional pet in Europe and that was back in 2006. Those of us who are upset about all the latest US promos are from Europe, South America, Australia and South Africa.
A lot of people complaining that Blizz is finally just giving US players pets, when there are 7 pets from the past we don't have any access to whatsoever. And I don't see any of these crying players trying to give them to us US players. Yet they are still on the pet collection for us US collectors.
This makes me so sad as a EU player =(
Just to let you know that the murloc funko and Brrrgl is/was available in the UK too, on the UK Blizzard Store. I bought the pop and the code for Brrrgl was emailed to me.
Yet another pet promotion that freezes out Canadians- geographical pun intended
More US-only promotions?? Why? Do they not realise that people in other countries play this game too.
