With the addition of new mechanics and new pets in Warlords of Draenor, Archaeology is now easier to pick up and level.
There are currently seven pets to discover and create through Archaeology. Who knows how many more pets will be added to this secondary profession in the future!

i agree about the displays, but would love more colour on them! the only thing with colour in my display is the calcified eye! i keep wanting to click on it.
I became a serious Archaeology buff in WOD. Collecting all the artifacts for my town hall has been fun and I am only 4 items from completing the achievement.
Note that you are the only person who can "see" your awesome, "hard dug/fought for" archeology display. Yep. When someone else enters your town hall they see their own collection -- not yours. So, if you are into showing off your artifacts like your rarest pet/mount, it is not going to happen.
The artifacts are awesomesauce though and totally worth the effort.
