UPDATE: Discord and World of Warcraft are partnering for a special promotion that rewards the Parrlok pet! [source]

• What: Parrlok (pictured right)
• When: August 23, 2024 - September 8, 2024
• How: Stream WoW in Discord for at least 15 minutes in a direct message, group chat, or a server

One other person must be viewing your stream for it to count toward the promotion objective. The reward code is claimed in Discord, and redeemed on the Bnet launcher (click on your name on the top right, and select "Redeem Code" from the drop down menu).

With The War Within's release nearing, a few special promotions have been announced. Two have been confirmed to include battle pet rewards, while one is still unconfirmed.

Support A Streamer
The Support a Streamer promotion will be back to celebrate the launch of the expansion, and participants can earn a new pet. [source]

• What: Watcher of the Huntress (pictured right)
• When: August 26, 3:00pm PDT - September 26, 10:00am PDT
• How: Purchase two(2) subscriptions for any active Twitch streamer streaming WoW during the promotion period

Note that you must have a Twitch account linked to your Bnet account to be eligible, and the pet must be redeemed before October 31, 2024. For additional details on this promotion, check out Blizzard's Support a Streamer and Twitch Drops article.

Trolli Gummies
If you're a fan of gummy worms (and even if you aren't), this possible pet-related promotion might interest you. An upcoming collaboration between World of Warcraft and Trolli brand gummies may include a new pet. [source]

• What: Gummi (pictured right)
• When: September 1, 12:00pm EDT - February 28, 2025, 11:59pm EDT
• How: Purchase any qualifying Trolli product from a U.S. retailer during the promotion period, and submit a photo of your receipt

Keep in mind that Gummi has not been officially announced as an in-game reward for this specific promotion. It's still unknown what rewards players will receive. However, Gummi's flavor text does heavily suggest it's related in some way.

"Gummi baubleworms have an abundance of natural predators as they are known for their rubbery texture and sweet flavors."

It's unknown if this promotion will be limited to the U.S. or if international residents will also be able to participate. We'll be keeping an eye on the Trolli promotion page for more information.

SteelSeries Gaming Mouse
To celebrate 20 years of World of Warcraft, SteelSeries is releasing limited edition WoW PC gaming peripherals, one of which comes with an in-game pet. [source]

• What: Lil' Flameo (pictured right)
• When: To Be Announced
• How: Purchase the Aerox 9 Wireless: World of Warcraft Edition gaming mouse ($159.99 USD), and redeem the pet code

This special edition gaming mouse will come with a code that can be used to obtain Lil' Flameo. As far as we know, the pet code is not tied exclusively to the mouse, and it can be redeemed by anyone in possession of the code.

It's unknown when the limited edition mouse and other gaming peripherals will be available. You can periodically check the SteelSeries website for updates, or sign up for a notification email.

We'll add these pets to our database once they're available.

The War Within is officially live this week! Explore the Khaz Algar, capture new pets, battle new trainers, and earn some awesome achievements and rewards!

New Pets In The War Within
This expansion includes 80+ new battle pets to collect. Here's a quick summary of what to expect:

• 37 wild pets
• 19 dropped pets
• 18 pets from vendors
• 6 pet quest rewards
• 4 achievement pets
• 1 profession pet

Many more pets were datamined during early testing, but we'll have to wait and see if/when those additional pets become available to players.

New Trainers, Challenges, Achievements
Pet Battlers will find new trainers and boss NPC pets to go up against on Khaz Algar, with one of each located in each zone.

There's a total of 8 new encounters, however only 4 are objectives of the new Family achievement. These trainers are available to battle even when their associated WQ isn't active. Check out Xu-Fu's Pet Guides for tips and strats on these new battles!

Speaking of achievements, there are a number of new goals to set your sights on. These are either Pet Battle-related or reward a battle pet.

• Battle on Khaz Algar
• Khaz Algar Safari (rewards Waxwick, pictured right)
• (Family) Battler of Khaz Algar
• A Champion's Tour: The War Within (rewards Ruby-Eyed Stagshell)
• Worm Theory (rewards Lil' Bonechewer)

Interestingly, the Family Battler achievement currently doesn't have a meta-achievement with pet reward like previous iterations.

Next Collecting Milestone?
One final accomplishment that players might attain at the start of this expansion is the collecting achievement that was previously added in Dragonflight Alpha. It was removed for being unreasonably out of reach for collectors at the time, but players reported earning the achievement's pet reward during The War Within Alpha/Beta.

During testing, collecting 1800 unique pets seemed to trigger the achievement and rewarded Mister Muskoxeles (pictured right), even though no such achievement currently exists and the pet cannot be found in the Pet Journal.

We can only speculate that the achievement and pet is either being incorrectly rewarded or they're improperly implemented. It's unknown what will become of this achievement and pet, and we'll have to wait for a future hotfix.

Promotional Pets
Don't forget there are a few promotional pets, two of which are available right at the start of The War Within official launch for a limited time.
