We'll add this companion to our database as soon as we can!
Fractures in Time is live this week, and there are new battle pets to collect! [source]
New Pets
There are at least 21 new pets in Patch 10.1.5. Here is a summary of new battle pets, however, some may not be available until later in the patch.
- 12 quest rewards
- 7 purchasable from vendors
- 2 achievement rewards
Check out new pets in 10.1.5!
The majority of new pets will come from the Whelp Daycare questchain, and from Time Rift events. Read on to learn more about these two new activities.
Whelp Daycare
Help a whelp and earn some adorable new companions for your efforts! [source]
Upon zoning into the Dragon Isles in Patch 10.1.5, you'll notice a little whelp NPC following you. The breadcrumb quest from Herald Flaps (pictured right) will start you on your Little Scales Daycare journey.
Care for one whelp at a time from each of the five dragonflights (whelps pictured below, not in quest order) to unlock Whelp Daycare daily quests, a new battle pet from each flight's storyline, and the non-combat whelpling that you've attended to. This comes out to a total of 10 new pets that can be earned.
(Note: Quests are not account-wide, players with multiple characters will need to unlock and complete the quests for each character in order to unlock Whelp Daycare daily quests.)
From hatching eggs, fixing up a proper nest for a whelpling, feeding and providing entertainment, to taking on miscellaneous tasks - make sure to check back each day for quests to progress through this adorable side-story!
A few notable achievements tied to the Daycare include:
- Hey Nanny Nanny - title reward
- Whelp, There It Is - pet reward (Axel)
- Daycare Derby - toy reward
Time Rifts
Take part in maintaining the time streams to earn new pets! [source]
Every hour on the hour a Time Rift event will appear in Thaldraszus. Similar to the Researchers Under Fire event in Zaralek Cavern, work together with other players to complete objectives, only this time it's to restore the timeways.
Earn a new currency, Paracausal Flakes, from Time Rift events. These can be traded in to vendors for various rewards including new battle pets.
There is a total of 7 Time Rift pets (pictured above), each costs 2750 Paracausal Flakes. However, there might be a chance to earn one of these pets directly from completing a Time Rift event.
...And More!
There are 3 more battle pets in this latest patch that don't fit into either activity mentioned above.
The Dracthyr's Destiny
A new talent specialization for Evokers, Augmentation, is available in Patch 10.1.5. [source]
Max level Dracythyr that swap to this new Augmentation spec while in Valdrakken, and then walk up to the top of the stairs at The Seat of the Aspects will have a new quest pop up.
Our Destiny begins a short questchain that revisits the story of Adamanthia, a black dragon frozen in time. A new pet, Nelthara (pictured right), is rewarded at the end.
Ka
A side questchain can be found in Thaldraszus that rewards a new pet, Kabluey (pictured left).
Located in the north-west of The Temporal Conflux, Temporal Investigator Tempo has a quest for players to find and help out the chronosmiths in the area.
Don't miss out on this questchain and its pet reward. How can you be blue when Kabluey is cracking very pun-ny jokes?
A Not-So-Secret Secret
Last but not least, this patch includes a new in-game world event called Secrets of Azeroth, and a related battle pet, of course! [source]
It's unclear what exactly Secrets of Azeroth will entail, but completing the achievement Community Rumor Mill will reward Tobias (pictured right).
Secrets of Azeroth is currently set to take place at the end of August and beginning of September of this year. It's unknown if this will be a reoccurring event or not, so mark your calendar and make sure you don't miss it!
Something Fishy...
One more pet was added to the Pet Journal at the last moment prior to this week's patch going live - Blub (pictured right)!
Not much is known about this pet at this time. Interestingly enough, it shares the same model as Glub, a WotLK Classic-exclusive pet reward (coming July 24) for purchasing a 6-month or 12-month WoW subscription. [source]
We'll have to wait and see how we'll collect this bubbly new companion in Retail.
