It's often said that the worst fights are between best friends, and this contest between the members of the famed Howl Bomb team was no exception.
Check out the video below to witness the latest Pet Battle Royale winner as determined by you, the WarcraftPets community.
And the winner is...
It was a very close matchup this week. Chrominius — aka Snuffles — lagged behind for most of the voting, but Yao Shui the Pandaren Water Spirit and Helene the Unborn Val'kyr swapped the lead a few times.
In the end, whether it was Helene's stunning beauty, rarity or prowess that clinched her victory is anyone's guess.
In the world of pet battling, there's always a next match. You never know who might show up in the ring in the next Pet Battle Royale! Check in soon for another chance to vote for a champion.

Pet Battle Royale: Mr. Wiggles vs Brilliant Bloodfeather
June 08, 2016
While pet battling can be a good time, sometimes it's a lot of fun to think how our favorite companions might fare in a different kind of fight. The ring is ready for another Pet Battle Royale!
Here, we present two different battle pets and then you, the WarcraftPets community, vote to determine the winner.
Historic Duel
These two just cannot get along. This grudge match goes a long way back — centuries, even. Though the matter has been pretty well settled by another pair, we're hoping these two know the 10 rules of dueling well enough to perform an encore.
Here’s the tale of the tape...
Breed: Mr. Wiggles
Name: Hamilton
Age: 49
Height: 2 feet 1 inch
Weight: 36 pounds 3 ounces
Reach: 9 inches
Hometown: Stormwind
Signature Move: Buried Treasure
Favorite Food: South Island Iced Tea
Breed: Brilliant Bloodfeather
Name: Aaron Burrd
Age: 48
Height: 19.3 inches
Weight: 5.2 pounds
Reach: n/a
Wingspan 45.1 inches
Hometown: Talador
Signature Move: Accuracy
Favorite Food: Succulent Pork Ribs
You Decide Who Wins!
So, WarcraftPets, who should win?
Between the two, Hamilton certainly seems the hero of the story. Burrd's name has been dragged through the dirt, which is doubly the insult for such a proud peacock.
Of course, Hamilton's documented soft spot for orphans may give Burrd an advantage... we all know the Stormwind Orphanage isn't exactly discerning when they hand out those whistles, so who knows whether a couple may come along as a distraction.
Both have decent healing moves and a bit of utility, though I'd give the edge to Burrd as a battler overall. Everybody knows he's a terrible shot, but that buff move Accuracy can help him take deadly aim.
Will it be Hamilton, aka Mr. Wiggles, or Aaron Burrd, the Brilliant Bloodfeather?

Voting ends June 15th, so don't delay in helping decide which pet takes all!

Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling — Pet of the Month: June 2016
June 17, 2016
Popular for its battling capabilities, this mechanical pet is heating things up. This month we're covering the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling!
Collecting the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling
To collect the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling, you'll either want to find someone with Engineering or have the profession yourself. Leave it to the Engineers to come up with such a neat pet!
Crafting this dragonling requires Engineering skill 575. Whether you have Gnomish or Goblin Engineering, simply speak with a trainer to learn the recipe.
Don't have a character with Engineering? Thankfully the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling is Bind On Use and cageable!
Materials required to craft this pet include:
Ghost Iron nodes should be fairly easy to come by if you're a miner searching Pandaria, but the Auction House is also an option.
Trillium might be a bit trickier, even for miners, as smelting a bar requires both Black Trillium Ore and White Trillium Ore. Not only are these nodes rarer than Ghost Iron, it's also a lot more random which version (black or white) you'll come across.
If the Auction House isn't an option for you, it's possible to obtain Trillium Bars with the help of an Alchemist. 10 Ghost Iron Bars (or 20 ore) can be transmuted into one Trillium Bar. And if lucky, the alchemical process could proc and yield bonus bars!
A Spirit of Harmony is created by combining 10 Motes of Harmony. These motes drop from various mobs in Pandaria. Be prepared to slay a lot of foes — motes are not guaranteed to drop on every kill.
It's also possible to grow Motes of Harmony on your personal farm at Half Hill in Valley of the Four Winds. Keep in mind that this requires some reputation grinding. Songbell Seeds are sold only to those with The Tillers reputation of Revered or higher.
Gathering materials for crafting not your cup of tea? If you enjoy RNG, try your luck with Blingtron! The Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling has a small chance of dropping from the daily gift package.
Whether for its aesthetic appeal or battling prowess (the only Mechanical pet with a Dragonkin attack to date), many collectors and battlers can attest that the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling is a must-have in a collection.
Be sure to save an upgrade Battlestone for this pet though. Its base quality when added to the Pet Journal is only Uncommon.
Battling with the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling
The Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling only has a single straightforward DPS move: Breath. Beyond that, everything has frills and complications, so buckle up.
Perhaps the most straightforward move to address is Bombing Run, which deals a small amount of damage, then additional damage later on. This is a decent move for combos.
Speaking of combos, in addition to a little damage, the first slot move Flyby increases the opponent’s damage taken by 25%. It’s not a huge multiplier, but it’s something.
Flyby doesn’t combo super well with Thunderbolt until you get down to the very last pet, as it’ll split damage between all your opponent’s still living pets. That 25% is quite a bit of damage when you’re chunking 592 at one pet, but not so much when you’re buffing 25% of a third of 592.
The Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling’s last slot is its most peculiar. On the one hand you’ve got Decoy, which blocks 2 attacks your opponent makes. Only your opponent’s attacks count, so don’t be afraid to attack when you’ve got your Decoy up. The other hand is Explode, which deals a huge amount of damage but kills your Dragonling dead. No res turn for you. Enjoy your horrific fiery death to explosives!

Legion Beta: Test Pets Update and Hidden Pet Battle Quest
June 25, 2016
A new Legion Beta patch was recently released. The three datamined Test Pets were updated with names, however there's still quite a bit of mystery surrounding them. [source]
The Mystery Continues
Last month we reported the discovery of three Test Pets on the Legion Beta. Without proper names, icons, or Pet Journal entries, these additions were shrouded in mystery.
In the latest Beta update these Test Pets received an update — names!
Unfortunately, that's the extent of the update. It's still unknown what these pets will look like or where they will come from. The names themselves could be placeholders as well.
However, if the names are indeed any indication of what these pets will be, we can speculate that the two new Murky pets might be PVP related. With titles like 'Knight-Captain' and 'Legionnaire', how could they not be!
Mischief is a name that could apply to a wide variety of pets. However, a telling clue might be in the on-click audio tied to this pet. Datamining shows that it currently shares the same audio files as the Cinder Kitten — could Mischief be another feline friend?
For now, we will simply need to wait a little longer for an actual reveal of what these companions are and how we'll collect them.
Stay tuned, we'll have more information as this enigma unfolds.
Hidden Pet Battle Quest
A WarcraftPets user recently found an interesting toy on Legion Beta that summons a Grand Master Pet Tamer! [source]
Sternfathom's Pet Journal is a toy that can be looted from a treasure chest in Azsuna.
Using this toy summons Shipwrecked Captive (pictured right), a Grand Master Pet Trainer. The toy can only be used while in Azsuna, and has a short cooldown time (2 minutes).
This summoned ghostly NPC offers a low level (level 1) Pet Battle quest that is currently flagged as an account-wide weekly, and rewards 4 Pet Charms. Other players cannot pick up or battle another player's Shipwrecked Captive.
Once you've accepted his quest, you can enter a Pet Battle with him. He has three level 25, epic (purple) quality pets on his team.
The Shipwrecked Captive will despawn after 2 minutes, however if you're still engaged in a battle with him he will not instantly disappear. Only after you've exited battle with him will he despawn. No cheating by forfeiting, Mister Captive!
Should you be unable to defeat him, you can simply resummon the NPC. After turning in the quest, you cannot battle him until you've picked up the quest again.
Completing the quest does not trigger an auto-quest complete at the moment, so it's possible to defeat him, not turn in the quest, and continue challenging the Shipwrecked Captive, earning a decent amount of endless pet experience. Keep in mind that this may not be intended, and could change prior to release.
Incorporating Pet Battles into discovered toys is a fun and engaging way to deliver content. We hope to see more interesting and different methods for pet-content in the future.
In the mean time, we're definitely looking forward to this new trainer in Legion!

Pet Battle Royale: Hamilton-Burrd Duel - Who Won?
June 29, 2016
A grudge match straight from history, these pets were both out for blood.
Check out the video below to witness the latest Pet Battle Royale winner as determined by you, the WarcraftPets community.
And the winner is...
In another very close match, history won out. Aaron Burrd got the best of Hamilton. Both pets tried their best but Burrd's Accuracy sealed the victory.
In the end, the world was not wide enough for both Hamilton and Burrd. With Legion coming, maybe Hamilton can take a vacation to the newly discovered Broken Isles — after he recuperates with a pet bandage or two, of course.
In the world of pet battling, there's always a next match. You never know who might show up in the ring in the next Pet Battle Royale! Check back soon for another chance to vote for the next PBR champion.
