Status Update (1)

This past weekend I got my 20,000th PVP pet battle win! There's no achievement for that, just something I've been tracking on my own. Took me five years to get from 5000 to here!

Re: Chip

Underratedly one of the best Call Sandstorm pets in the game. Has quicksand to slow the enemy team, but unlike pets like Living Sandling or Sandkeep, does much higher damage.

Adding on to what Sile9 said, if you use this pet with another pet that can heal it, you can keep it above 50% hp to keep it at max speed. When this pet goes first, it's really annoying for your opponent because they don't know whether to expect Call Sandstorm or Cocoon Strike.

Black claw + Hunting Party remains an absolute killer combo for WQs and pet dungeons, but do not try it in PVP. No one is gonna sit there and let you get that combo off, they'll just swap pets. And now you're locked into three rounds of a low damage ability.

Call Darkness + Nocturnal Strike is a solid combo as part of a darkness team. Arguably, this one isn't the best choice though (you normally want a bit more power since this combo is all about big fat damage, and the bird buff gives you a speed bonus anyway) but definitely a solid option. Biggest downside is the lack of any other utility. Still, definitely a staple pet in a darkness team.

Too slow by far to use in PVP, and mana surge is a terrible ability for PVP as well. If you use arcane winds + mana surge, your opponent just needs to change the weather, and just like that, you're locked into doing a low damage ability for three rounds.

Not a pet I'd recommend for PVP. No one is going to sit there and let you stun them with deep freeze, they'll just swap.

Very useful pet for WQs and pet dungeons, absolute trash in PVP. It's three round KO combo is just too slow. The other guy is just going to dodge or block or stun you. Most times when I see an Iron Starlette, I'm able to kill it without it doing a single point of damage to my team. So overrated.

Disagree with many of the comments, this pet is not useful in PVP. For one thing, it's too slow. For another, it's completely nullified by Call Darkness. Darkness hits it for huge damage because it's a humanoid type attack, and then the effects of darkness nerf the healing.

The game has moved on since the Celestial Tournament came out, and this guy, like the others, doesn't hold up as well as he used to. Especially in PVP, he's just too slow to be worthwhile against meta teams.

This pet used to be a staple for pvp but sadly it's day has passed. There are faster, better pets, as well as lots of move sets that completely nullify decoy. If you still use this guy in your pvp teams on the regular, you can probably still get wins, but there are upgrades out there.

Not bad for PVE but terrible in PVP. Much too slow.

Overrated, especially for PVP. Slow, only one viable damage type, and decoy is really easy to break with moves that are common in the meta.

Not a good pet for PVP at all. Surge of Light is only good if the weather is darkness, but darkness nerfs his healing via Restoration and racial ability. He's also too slow to have much use in the current meta. If you want a Surge of Light + Darkness combo, use Twilight. Especially because Twilight can cast Call Darkness himself without relying on another pet for setup.

I disagree with some of the comments here, this isn't a useful pet for PVP. Blizzard isn't a very powerful weather effect, and aquatic pets are just bad in general. If you want Blizzard, look elsewhere. Christmas pets are better than this guy, I think.

Underrated pet, especially for PVP. Uncanny luck + great sting makes for a solid combo for a clone dance team.

Too slow to be viable in PVP these days.

Between the high speed, bubble, and dive abilities, this little guy has some great survivability. Great finisher for PVP.

Underrated pet. Great power and speed. Sandstorm + stoneskin + humanoid racial makes for great survivability.

This pet used to be elite for PVP. The dragonkin buff + twilight meteorite does massive damage. Unfortunately, speed has completely over taken the meta, and the fastest breeds of clutch-sister can't quite keep up anymore.

Solid pet. Humanoid + sandstorm is always a great combination. If you're into PVP, make sure to get the SS breed. The combination of speed + blackout kick is very useful. But if you don't have SS, it's not worth much.
