What a sweet, fun little "treasure" hunt to obtain this pet and neat nod to the Dalaran sewers. Can confirm that, while the pet journal entry does not currently show the bandana, this little fella is wearing it in the overworld and has a chance to appear with one of the four bandana colors each time it's summoned.

Not sure when this changed, but the appearance/skin for the Nursery Spider is no longer what's currently pictured in the profile. The in-game appearance is now the same as the Bilefang Skitterer, as pictured in its profile here.

Can confirm Gingerscream's comment. It's the 50, 24 area SE of "Azurewing Repose" on the map, or just NE of the FP. I levelled both an alt and my pets (Pet Battle Bonus Week) for several hours and there were always at least a couple of Hares up at all times. Brought a levelling pet, Emerald Proto-Whelp and had a couple of spiders to rotate in and out. Profit!
